Before you buy
Is travel insurance mandatory for Iran?
Yes. Every visitor needs medical insurance valid in Iran for the length of their stay. If you arrive without it, you'll be asked to buy a policy at the airport, which usually costs more and covers less.
Will my existing policy be accepted?
Only if the certificate names Iran explicitly and shows medical cover for your dates. Many European policies exclude Iran, so check the wording before you rely on it.
When does cover start and end?
Cover runs from 00:01 on your first travel date to 23:59 on the last, in Iran Standard Time. We recommend adding a day either side of your flights to allow for delays.
Can I insure travellers of different ages on one policy?
Yes, up to six travellers on a single policy. Each traveller is priced on their own age and cover level, and each gets an individual certificate.
How do I make a claim?
Call the 24/7 assistance number on your certificate before treatment where possible, so costs can be settled directly with the hospital. If you've already paid, upload receipts through your booking and we'll reimburse within 14 days.
What if my trip is cancelled or my visa is refused?
Any policy can be cancelled for a full refund up to the first day of cover, including after a visa refusal. Email us the refusal notice and we'll process it the same day.
